1 John 1:9 (NLT)
“But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.”

God’s forgiveness is not based on how good we are—it’s based on how good He is. Many of us carry guilt and shame from our past, believing we’ve gone too far to be forgiven. But Scripture reminds us that when we confess our sins, He is faithful. Not sometimes. Always.
I’ve felt the weight of guilt. There were times in my life when I thought I had blown every chance. That I wasn’t worth saving. But God’s grace told me otherwise. He took my brokenness and gave me new life—not because I deserved it, but because Jesus already paid for it.
God’s forgiveness isn’t partial. He doesn’t just patch us up; He makes us clean. He removes our sin “as far as the east is from the west” (Psalm 103:12). When God forgives, He doesn’t hold it over our heads—He wipes it completely away.
If you’re struggling with shame, remember this: you are one honest prayer away from freedom. Don’t let your past keep you from your future. God’s mercy is waiting. All you have to do is ask.
A Prayer to Receive God’s Forgiveness
Father, thank You for Your mercy. I confess my sins to You and ask for Your forgiveness. Help me to accept that You have washed me clean and to walk in the freedom You’ve given me. I let go of the shame and hold on to Your promise of grace. In Jesus’ name, amen.
